Detailed Overview

Capturing individual visits is an essential aspect of accumulating data for both identification and attribution use cases. After capturing detailed tracking for each interaction, Sona groups that data into profiles for both Web Visitors and Accounts.

Visits play a crucial role in constructing your Attribution model. In platforms like Google Analytics, visits may be referred to as "sessions," but they are essentially the same thing. Visits are a metric, while visitors represent actual people.

Attribution records a pageview whenever the attribution.js snippet is activated with Attribution.page(). A visit encompasses key pageviews, defining the landing page, parameters, and referral source from which the visitor originated. When the script loads, Attribution gathers vital visitor information, storing it for modeling purposes.
