Workspace Settings: Alerts

Updated this week

This guide walks you through setting up Slack alerts to notify your team in real time when visitors or accounts match intent signals. Alerts help teams act quickly on engagement insights without needing to constantly check dashboards.

With this guide, you’ll be ready to automate updates and keep your team aligned on key buyer behaviors.

When to Use This / Prerequisites

Use this when:

  • You want your sales or marketing team to be instantly notified of high-intent actions.

  • You’re actively using intent signals and filtered views to identify key visitors or accounts.

Prerequisites:

  • Slack integration must be connected via the Connectors page.

  • At least one Intent Signal and Filtered View or Audience should be created in your account.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1. Access the Alerts Page

  • Navigate to the Alerts section from your Sona workspace.

Step 2. Create or Manage an Alert

  • To create a new alert, click New Alert at the bottom of the list.

  • To remove an alert, click the (minus) icon next to the alert you wish to delete.

Step 3. Choose Alert Type

  • When setting up a new alert, select whether it applies to:

    • Web Visitors (identified users)

    • Accounts (company-level tracking)

Step 4. Target the Right Group

  • In the alert setup screen:

    • Choose a Filtered View or Audience that includes the visitors or accounts you want alerts for.

Step 5. Set the Intent Signal

  • Select an existing Intent Signal, or click Create Intent Signal to define a new one based on your tracking strategy.

Step 6. Select Slack Channel

  • Choose the Slack channel where you want the alert to be delivered.

Step 7. Save the Alert

  • Click Save Alert to activate it.

  • Or click Cancel to discard your changes and return to the Alerts page.

Key Concepts / Best Practices

  • Keep it relevant: Avoid alert fatigue by only creating alerts for high-value signals and audiences.

  • Align alerts to workflows: Send account-based alerts to sales reps or BDR Slack channels; send visitor-level alerts to marketing teams.

  • Use naming conventions: Example: High Intent - Enterprise Accounts or Engaged Visitor - Pricing Page.
