Getting Started with the New Chat Screen

Your central hub for analyzing data, uncovering insights, and taking action on your accounts.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

When you open Sona, the New Chat screen invites you to start analyzing your marketing data. Sona captures first-party behavioral signals to power attribution, enrichment, and AI-driven workflows, while also supporting file uploads for data analysis.

From here, you can ask questions about your data in plain language, connect your tools, and jump into pre-built data templates to start analysis right away.

The Chat Input

At the center of the screen, you’ll find the main chat input — a text field with the placeholder "Analyze and visualize trends and patterns in the data...". This is where you type your questions or requests in natural language.

Example Questions

  • "Which accounts should I focus on this week?"

  • "Show me a breakdown of accounts by buying stage."

  • "What campaigns are driving the most conversions?"

Add Data

Click the Add Data dropdown (to the left of the input) to select or attach specific datasets you want Sona to reference when answering your question.

Analysis Type Selector

Use the Identified Accounts dropdown to choose the dataset that you want to analyze. Clicking it reveals the following options:

  • Identified Accounts — Analyze accounts that have been identified and matched in your data.

  • Intent Signals — Focus on accounts showing buying intent based on behavioral signals.

  • Web Visitors — Analyze traffic and engagement from visitors to your website.

  • Revenue Attribution — Understand which channels and campaigns are driving revenue.

  • Marketing Influence — Measure how marketing touchpoints influence deal progression.

  • Sales Prioritization — Identify which accounts your sales team should focus on next.

Select the analysis type that best fits your question, and Sona will tailor its response accordingly.

Once you’ve typed your question, hit the send button (the arrow icon on the right) to submit it.

Connect Your Data

Below the chat input, you’ll see a banner that says "Connect your data to analyze." Clicking this banner opens a modal with two tabs: Data Connectors and Tracking Pixel.

Data Connectors

The Data Connectors tab is where you link the tools and platforms your team uses every day. Sona supports a wide range of connectors:

Connector

Description

HubSpot

CRM and marketing automation data

Salesforce

CRM and sales pipeline data

Facebook Ads

Ad performance and audience data

Google Ads

Campaign and keyword performance

Google Drive

Documents and files

Microsoft Advertising

Ad campaign data

Slack

Team communication data

Google Spreadsheets

Custom data from spreadsheets

To connect a platform, click its icon in the banner or navigate to Data > Data Connectors in the left sidebar. From there, you can connect new accounts or manage existing ones. Each connector displays your currently linked accounts and gives you the option to Connect New Accounts at any time.

Tip: The more data sources you connect, the richer and more accurate your insights will be.

Tracking Pixel

The Tracking Pixel tab lets you install a JavaScript snippet on your website to track anonymous visitors. This is useful for identifying companies and individuals visiting your site before they fill out a form or otherwise identify themselves.

To install the tracking pixel:

  1. Switch to the Tracking Pixel tab in the data connection modal.

  2. Copy the JavaScript snippet using the Copy to Clipboard button.

  3. Paste the snippet between the <head> and </head> tags of your website.

Tip: Once the pixel is installed, Sona will begin capturing anonymous visitor data that you can use in your analyses and account prioritization.

Get Started with a Template

Not sure where to begin? Sona provides ready-made templates to help you hit the ground running. You’ll see a few on the main screen, and you can click Show More to browse the full list.

"Which accounts should I prioritize this week based on ICP fit and intent?"

Focus on your highest-value opportunities by combining fit and intent signals.

"Show high ICP-fit accounts with rising engagement in the last 7 days."
